Hello Rotella Parents,
My name is Lauren Martin and I am the Title 1 Parent Liaison here at Rotella. I serve as the liaison between parents, teachers and school personnel.
I work closely with our Principal, Ms. Henry, Vice-Principal, Mrs. Wallace and the teachers/staff. In short, the Parent Liaison is the bridge between home and school.
I promote regular meaningful two way communication and parent engagement to help all our students succeed. I can also provide you with community resources both public and private should you need any assistance outside of school.

Vision
The vision of Rotella Interdistrict Magnet School is to educate all students to the highest levels of academic achievement so that they may be creative, compassionate, and caring citizens vital to our community.

Mission
The mission of Rotella Interdistrict Magnet School, in partnership with families, resident artists, and community members, is to provide all students with comprehensive academic and social-emotional programs integrating dance, music, theater, visual and media arts into instruction.

Communication About Student Learning

Teacher Responsibilities

Meet and communicate with parents throughout the year.
Monitor student progress with updates to parents through phone calls, PowerSchool, ParentSquare, and e-mails.
Ensure each student gets the appropriate assistance/intervention as needed and in a timely manner.
Utilize an arts-integrated approach to teaching and differentiated instruction.
Assign appropriate homework for students' abilities.
Keep parents informed of activities and classroom news.
Recognize and respect cultural, racial and ethnic differences and teach students to do the same.
Provide a positive, safe, healthy learning environment

Parent Responsibilities

Communicate openly with teachers regarding your child and show support of school and classroom policies.
See that your child reads on a daily basis with you or independently.
Set aside a specific time and a quiet place for your child to do homework. Check homework together, give assistance when needed, and sign and return all necessary papers.
Be involved in your child's education by attending parent-teacher conferences and other activities held at school during the year. Volunteer when possible.
Check bookbags and/or folders for information on a daily basis.
Be sure your child attends school regularly on time and stays until dismissal
Encourage positive attitudes towards school.
